Implementing the Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act:
What’s Happening and What’s Next
November 17 | 11:30 am - 3:00 pm | Omni Richmond Hotel – 100 South 12th Street, Richmond, VA

You are invited to join Governing Magazine for a special leadership luncheon
addressing the Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act (WIOA)

You have been identified as a leader in the workforce field, and we hope you can join fellow policy experts, labor department officials, and workforce innovation leaders to add your perspective to this important initiative.

The Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act (WIOA), represents the first major reform of the public workforce system in more than 15 years. Achieving the ambitious goals of the act requires significant changes to workforce development programs and to the way governments engage with citizens and the business community in order to build effective systems of regional cooperation.

Convened by Governing, with support from Monster Government Solutions, the focus of this roundtable will be on understanding the challenges states are facing, highlighting the successes they are experiencing as they implement WIOA, and discussing how technology is playing an important role with WIOA. We will also review our recent WIOA-survey findings to discuss performance benchmarks and the most effective strategies.

This roundtable is per invitation only. Attendance is free, however, your RSVP is required to secure a seat at the table. Should you be unable to join us in person, please consider sending a delegate or recommending a colleague to participate on your behalf. To RSVP, please register online. For questions, please email Katherine Howard at khoward@governing.com or call: (916) 932 - 1421. We hope to see you there!
