Area Attractions

The area around Wintergreen is an undiscovered gem with artists’ studios, wineries, breweries, antique stores, museums and rich history. Further afield you’ll find the more familiar – Thomas Jefferson’s Monticello, Ash Lawn-Highland, the University of Virginia and the Museum of American Frontier Culture.

  • Golf – Stoney Creek – a 27-hole championship golf course designed by Rees Jones, was selected as one of the "Best Golf Courses in the Country” by Golf Digest and Devils Knob – an 18-hole championship golf course, Ellis Maples’ mountaintop masterpiece is the highest course in Virginia.
  • Tennis – 19 composition clay tennis courts and three deco-turf indoor tennis courts.
