Hear about innovative planning for bicycling and walking from across the Commonwealth.

  • Ann Cundy, AICP, Transportation Program Manager, Harrisonburg-Rockingham MPO
    For over 10 years, Central Shenandoah PDC has run the Bike the Valley bicycle tourism marketing program and website. In 2017 it embarked upon a rebranding for the program, which includes a new logo, rack card, print ad and popup banner for the program, and a new WordPress website. Ann will share their process for the rebranding, as well as where the program will expand in the next 10 years.

  • Nicholas Quint, Principal Planner, Fredericksburg Area MPO
    Nick will talk about bicycle demand and level of traffic stress analyses recently completed as part of FAMPO’s bicycle and pedestrian plan, and the MPO’s bicycle and pedestrian count program

  • Phil Riggan, Transportation Planner, Richmond Regional TPO
    Phil will describe work toward a regional Complete Streets policy for the TPO’s nine localities.

  • Steve Lambert, Transportation Planner II, Hampton Roads TPO
    Following the success of the Virginia Capital Trail, the newly adopted Birthplace of America Trail study, and the development of the South Hampton Roads Trail, the Hampton Roads region is moving forward with active transportation projects.  Steve will describe Linking Hampton Roads, the region’s first collaborative active transportation plan
