Telling Our Story -- Communications Best Practices
It's critical that your organization communicate with constituents throughout your region. The way we communicate is key. Newsletters, branding, websites, and high-quality final reports are all tools that can be used to get your message out to appropriate groups in your region. This session will present alternatives for your organization and best practices to maximize communication with constituents.

Finance NetworkThis session is intended for the finance/human resources personnel for PDCs. It will provide the opportunity to continue addressing items of mutual interest while sharing knowledge and resources.


  • Michael Aukamp, Dunham, Aukamp & Rhodes, PLC. - Presentation

GIS/TechnologyThis breakout session will look at best practices in GIS that are occurring across the state. This session will be an interactive session where participants are asked to submit slides showing innovative practices going on in their PDC.

TransportationThis breakout session will focus on PDC efforts at integrating land use and transportation planning using tools such as land use inventory and analysis, development tracking and corridor studies. Representatives from VDOT’s Land Development office will provide background on VDOT Land Use & Development tools and regulations and PDC staff will share their experiences in integrating land use and transportation planning.
